The Center is fortunate to have an extraordinary 6,000 volume collection of mental health related books, journals, manuscripts and works of art. Starting in 2005, for the first time in its history, the Center’s library became subject-searchable due to the implementation of an electronic cataloging system. In conjunction with this cataloging, the library was re-shelved by the Library of Congress numbering system.  The library is open to the public for on-site use of materials.

The Library is currently collecting the following journal titles:

  • American Imago (edited by Vera Camden)
  • Annual of Psychoanalysis
  • Child Analysis (gift of Kay McKenzie)
  • International Journal of Psychoanalysis
  • Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association (gift of Scott Dowling)
  • Journal of Child Psychotherapy
  • Journal of Clinical Psychoanalysis
  • Neuropsychoanalysis
  • Psychoanalysis and Contemporary Thought
  • Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy
  • Psychoanalytic Dialogues
  • Psychoanalytic Inquiry
  • Psychoanalytic Psychology
  • Psychoanalytic Quarterly
  • Psychoanalytic Review
  • Psychoanalytic Study of the Child (edited by Scott Dowling)
  • Studies in Gender and Sexuality (gift of Murray Goldstone)

Library volunteers are needed.  If you would like to volunteer, please contact Librarian Deborah Hefling at (216) 229-5959 ext. 13, or dhefling@sbcglobal.net.
